Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar addressed the Notth American Regional Conference against Apartheid, organized by the Special Committee against Apartheid, which opened at UN Headquarters on 18 June. The four-day Conference will review the situation in South Africa and in southern Africa as a whole, in relation to the policies and actions of the United States and Canada with regard to the struggle for liberation in South Africa.
