CAPTION BACKGROUND= The Centre against Apartheid and the Non-Governmental Organization Section of the UN Office of Public Information held a conference at UN Headquarters today entitled "What Future for South Africa? Implications of Apartheid to World Peace".The programme featured a panel discussion with the following speakers: Ms. Elizabeth Sibeko, Assistant to the Representative of the Pan-Afri-American Congress of Azania; Mr. George Houser, Executive Director of the American Committee on Africa; Mr. Kenneth Carstens, Director of the United States Branch of the International Defence and Aid Fund for Southern Africa; and Mr. Thami Mhlambiso, Permanent Representative of the African National Congress. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Enuga S. Reddy, Director of the Centre against Apartheid, and Mrs. Sally Swing Shelley, Chief of the NGO Section of the Office of Public Information
CAPTION DESCRIPTION= The Conference was attended by over 100 members of professional, labour, voluntary and religious organizations to mark the first anniversary of the uprising in Soweto, South Africa. A general view of the meeting which was held in Conference Room 4
