The new Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN, who presented his credentials to Secretary General Kurt Waldheim at UN Headquarters today. Mr. Clark has most recently served as Ambassador of Nigeria to Ethiopia, a post he held from 1977 to 1979. He was Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN Office at Geneva, and to the specialised agencies and international organizations in Switzerland and Austria from 1973 to 1977. Also in 1973, he was appointed as Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation with concurrent acreditation to the Federal Republic of Austria and Turkey. From 1970 to 1973, he was Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs, and from 1969 to 1970 he was Under-Secretary of the same Ministry. Mr. Clark also served as Counsellor and Head of Chancery at the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the UN in New York from 1965 to 1969. From 1966 to 1967, he served as the Alternate Representative to the Security Council. |
