ANC mourns passing away of party agent Abueng Modise
22 April 2009
ANC party agent - cde Abueng Modise died this morning, 22 April 2009 at Ventersdorp Hospital subsequent to serious injuries she incurred upon a car she and three others were travelling in capsised on the way to the polling station. The three survived with minor injuries and were later discharged.
The incident happened at the Opraaps Phase 2 in the area of Ventersdorp.
Cde Lumka Yengeni the ANC Provicial Election Team Coordinator has on behalf of the Organization extended condolences to the bereaved family, friends and colleagues.
"Similar to Comrade Moss Phakwe, Comrade Prince Monaune and Comrade Simon Kehumile, Comrade Abueng's spear fell in the line of duty. They paid the high price to ensure that we consolidate our gains by winning these elections," she said.
She wished the three comrades who survived the accident speedy recovery.
Funeral and other arrangements will be communicated in due course.
