ANC's birthday wish for President Jacob Zuma At 67

The African National Congress (ANC) today (12 April 2009) joins millions of South Africans in wishing ANC President Jacob Zuma a happy 67th birthday. With his birthday being celebrated in just days before South Africans go to the polls, the biggest present we can give to Msholozi is to ensure that the last remaining mass mobilisation campaigns yield an overwhelming victory for the ANC.

Msholozi's birthday also provides us with an opportunity to reflect on his resilience, inspiration and consultative leadership he has provided to the ANC since being voted to take over the reigns of President of the ruling party at the watershed Polokwane Conference.

Despite desperate and unsuccessful attempts aimed at destroying his character and reputation, Zuma has become a tower of strength for the ANC and the country. As the face of the ANC in the election campaign, Zuma has touched the hearts of many South Africans, having reached out to our people in the urban and rural areas; minority groups and other key stakeholders to listen and address their concerns.

The ANC could not have wished for a better leader to take the organisation and the country forward.
