RE: ELECTIONS IN GAUTENG Issued by: Gauteng Provincial Government "I am pleased to announce that active voter education in Gauteng has been kickstarted by street theatre, mobile video unit roadshows and NGOs". The remaining period in the run up to the elections will be dedicated by the consortium of voter education to ensuring that all communities are taught how voting will be conducted. The Consortium of Voter Education is made up of NGOs, Gauteng Communications/Voter Education Task Team, Street theatre TRC Mobile Video Units and a Crack Squad of thirty retired teachers from all the various areas of Gauteng. Street theatre and Mobile Video units will be operating in informal settlements, townships, suburbs, industrial areas and shopping centres in Gauteng. The Voter Education Task Team has this line up of programmes in place. There will be Voter Education Picnics/festivals where people will be practically learning the voting procedures. These mock elections will be accompanied by music and entertainment festivities.
