CP, NP SAY NO TO ELECTION CO-OPERATION, SAYS FF PIETERSBURG Aug 31 Sapa Freedom Front Northern Province spokesman Johan Willemse on Thursday said co-operation between the Freedom Front, National Party and Conservative Party in November's local government elections would have to be abandoned because of a lack of interest. "The FF's approaches and suggestions on co-operation with the NP and CP were given the cold shoulder," he said. The CP had withdrawn from co-operation plans because it wanted to test its support base in the elections, Willemse said. The NP declined because some of its members did not want to stand down in favour of FF candidates.
