Gauteng welcomes local government poll date JOHANNESBURG July 29 Sapa South Africans will conclude the process of democracy through the November 1 local government elections, Gauteng Premier Tokyo Sexwale said on Saturday. Supporting the national cabinet's decision confirming the polling date, he said democracy had come along way since the April 1994 general elections and history would not have forgiven the country's leaders if they failed to take a final lap to democracy. Gauteng people should come in their millions to vote for democratic local government.
