Voters' roll delay appeal in Eastern Transvaal

The African National Congress in the Eastern Transvaal on
Thursday appealed for at least another two weeks for the inspection
of voters' rolls.

In a statement the ANC said in many areas "there are problems
including voters' rolls arriving on the last day of the inspection
and in other areas not arriving at all".

ANC regional spokesman Vusi Sibiya told Sapa a letter asking
for more time was sent to the premier's office on Thursday morning.

Sibiya said the July 7 deadline for voters' roll inspection had
not been practical.
