The ANC Gauteng is very ecstatic about the victory at ward 96 Ekurhuleni and ward 12 Sharpeville by-elections results in the morning hours of today. The ANC win with big margins in the two wards shows that people have confidence in its ability to deliver beyond 2014. The opposition combined was heavily defeated with all getting shameful meagre votes.
The ANC Gauteng rejects the destructive campaigning by DA unveiling billboards on e-tolls. This is the kind of campaigning that is not only silly but very negative and opportunistic. It is clear that the DA and his inexperience candidate Mr. Maimane do not have policies and issues that can convince voters. The DA uses e-tolling as a trump card to entice voters because they are divided on issues of leadership, equity and BBBEE.
The ANC Gauteng List Conference will take place on the 31st October 2013 (tomorrow) in Johannesburg to allow all mandated delegates to vote on the final list for ANC cadres to be deployed in the National and Provincial parliament. The results of the voting process will be released after a week.
The ANC led Alliance in Gauteng welcomes the Bekkersdal community mass meeting decisions today, the meeting supported the agreement reached by the Alliance and Westoniria Residents Concern Association to return the area to normality.
