So-called Opposition 'Boycot' Futile & Dishonest
The so-called boycott of today's sitting of the National Assembly, in which the President replied to debates on his office's budget vote, is a laughable publicity stunt and a self-contradictory exercise that is driven more by opposition mob psychology than substance.
New appointments in Parliament
The Office of the ANC Chief Whip in Parliament announces new deployments to parliamentary committees to fill existing vacancies and strengthen their capacity to fulfil their oversight functions. The vacancies within several National Assembly committees were created primarily by the redeployment of the previous incumbents to new responsibilities both within and outside Parliament.
Parliamentary Parties agree to root out distardly conduct
The ongoing budget vote process in Parliament has been soiled by the deplorable erosion of the standard of multiparty debates in the House, with certain Members of Parliament deliberately engaging in downright offensive and aggressive conduct in blatant violation of basic rules of the House. Certain extended public committees (EPCs), where departments` budget plans are under the parliamentary scrutiny, have been rendered almost ungovernable as presiding officers had to battle with some belligerent MPs exchanging insults and other unprintable epithets. This flagrant and deliberate undermining of the parliamentary decorum, civility and mutual respect that guide multiparty debates once again poses a serious threat to the dignity and respect of the institution.
Parliament must act against Malema's incitement of violence
The Office of the ANC Chief Whip condemns in the strongest terms EFF leader Julius Malema's reckless utterances during an Al Jazeera interview, in which he agitated for violence and threatened to overthrow a democratically elected government through "a barrel of a gun."

Madiba fought for the liberation of all races
Mandela understood that racism and racially discriminatory practices degraded and dehumanised both the oppressed and the oppressors. Thus our national liberation struggle was waged for the liberation of all South Africans, both black and white. The struggle was not against white people. It was against the apartheid system.
