The African National Congress in Parliament recently submitted to the Speaker of the National Assembly its lists of appointees to serve on the two parliamentary ad hoc committees established to amend the existing legislation and to nominate a person for appointment as Public Protector.
Tribute to Deputy Chief Justice Moseneke
The African National Congress in Parliament pays tribute to the Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke on the occasion of his retirement following an accomplished and impeccable career serving the people of South Africa in various capacities, including recently as a respected jurist. We remain highly indebted to the Deputy Chief Justice for his lifelong and selfless commitment to the course of the struggle for liberation and advancement of the rule of law and the Constitution.
ANC calls for an introduction of a once-off debt forgiveness programme for forced retrenched workers
The recent slump in commodity prices and other negative global factors have negatively impacted the South African economy. Many sectors of the economy have had to retrench workers, leaving many families without livelihoods. The mining and steel industries in particular have experienced many retrenchments over a sustained period of time.

On Wednesday, 18 May 2016, the National Assembly burned the midnight oil, considering and approving the budgets of 40 government departments and other state institutions, in line with the service delivery priorities announced in the President's State of the Nation Address, and the subsequent annual budget statement by the Finance Minister.
EFF MPs must face criminal charges for violence & damage to parliament property
Yesterday the Western Cape High Court rejected the EFF's attempt to interdict the Speaker of the National Assembly from instructing the removal of its disruptive MPs when the President responded to questions in Parliament this afternoon. Despite the judgment, EFF MPs this afternoon disrupted the sitting, and when their removal was ordered, engaged in violent brawl with parliament's protection officers and damaged the property of parliament.
Alexandria ANC PCO donates rugby kit to school
The Parliamentary Constituency Office of the ANC in Alexandria has donated a rugby kit to Ukhanyo High School on Thursday 31st May 2012 at the school premises. The kit was presented by Brian Maloni who administers the activities of the Alexandria PCO.
Madiba fought for the liberation of all races
Mandela understood that racism and racially discriminatory practices degraded and dehumanised both the oppressed and the oppressors. Thus our national liberation struggle was waged for the liberation of all South Africans, both black and white. The struggle was not against white people. It was against the apartheid system.
