Those who value our democracy must defend Electoral Commission against political attacks
The Office of the ANC Chief Whip has noted with serious concern attempts by certain parties to cast aspersions on the Independent Electoral Commission ahead of the 2014 election. Faced with the prospects of failure in the elections, these parties have set their sights on the IEC with an intention to discredit the institution`s integrity with a view to justifying their bad performance in the election.
Gender Equality Bill to liberate and empower women
The Office of the ANC Chief Whip today joins South African women in celebrating the National Assembly`s passing of the crucial Women Empowerment and Gender Equality Bill, which criminalises discrimination against women, ensure gender equality and empower women in South Africa.
Passing of Customs Bills by National Assembly
The ANC welcomes the passing of the Customs Control; Customs Duty; and Customs and Excise Duty Amendment Bills. All three Bills support and are aligned to the objectives of the National Development Plan (NDP) in that their spirit and intention is to promote exports, increase business competitiveness, stimulate domestically orientated activity and support Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME`s).
Alexandria ANC PCO donates rugby kit to school
The Parliamentary Constituency Office of the ANC in Alexandria has donated a rugby kit to Ukhanyo High School on Thursday 31st May 2012 at the school premises. The kit was presented by Brian Maloni who administers the activities of the Alexandria PCO.

Mandela understood that racism and racially discriminatory practices degraded and dehumanised both the oppressed and the oppressors. Thus our national liberation struggle was waged for the liberation of all South Africans, both black and white. The struggle was not against white people. It was against the apartheid system.
