The Office of the ANC Chief Whip has noted a report in the Sunday Times regarding alleged violation of labour laws by ANC Member of Parliament and chairperson of the labour portfolio committee, Cde Lumka Yengeni, relating to a labour dispute with her domestic employee.
Historic overhaul of Assembly Rules to strengthen our multiparlty democracy
For the first time since the advent of democracy 22 years ago, the National Assembly today passed the comprehensively overhauled House Rules to bring them fully in line with the democratic Constitution and strengthen parliament's oversight role. The ANC in Parliament welcomes the adoption of the new Rules of the Assembly, which is a culmination of a four year long process that was initiated in the 4th Parliament.
Parliament passes Expropriation Bill to intensify Land Redistribution
The African National Congress in Parliament is pleased by the passing of the Expropriation bill by the National Assembly today, bringing to conclusion years of hard work by Parliament on this crucial draft legislation. The Bill was initially passed by the National Assembly in February 2016 and referred to the National Council of Provinces, which made its own amendments. The amendments were adopted by the National Assembly today, and the Bill will now be send to the President for signing into a Law to repeal the apartheid era Expropriation Act of 1975.

Alexandria ANC PCO donates rugby kit to school

Thus our national liberation struggle was waged for the liberation of all South Africans, both black and white. The struggle was not against white people. It was against the apartheid system.
