The ANC Electoral Commission is pleased to announce that the nominations process has been completed in all provinces as well as the Youth and Women’s League without any serious complaints or disputes. We are satisfied that the process was democratic and inclusive.
Should any members of the ANC have allegations of intimidation or any form of coercion, we urge them to supply the Commission with evidence in the form of sworn statements. The Commission will investigate and, if necessary, refer the matter to the relevant ANC Disciplinary Committee.
We would like to stress that no behaviour that contradicts the ANC Code of Conduct or that undermines legitimate democratic processes will be tolerated.
The Commission will now approach all nominees to ask if they will be available to appear on the ballots at Conference. A final list of candidates will be released in about one week to allow all our delegates and structures to carefully consider the choices available to them.
