The elections structures for the local government elections campaign have been finalised, and its all systems go for the ANC in Gauteng.
These structures have been finalised by the Provincial Executive at its ordinary meeting on the 11th of March. The PEC also adopted the Programme that came out from the Elections Strategic Planning Workshop. Comrade Barbara Creecy has been appointed as the Provincial Elections Coordinator and she will be deputised by cde Strike Ralekgoma.
Structures of COSATU, SACP and SANCO are on board in the ANC Elections Team set up at all levels and this will provide the broad political base through which the ANC will fight this elections. The ANC and its partners are entering this campaign with enhanced confidence for a decisive victory. We are sure that our turn-around plan for local government will ensure that this sphere of Governance becomes more effective in building better and safer communities.
