In celebrating March 8th, which is widely know as the International Women's Day, the ANC Women's League is organizing a seminar under the theme "Women united for sustainable development and peace in Africa".
The seminar will take place on Tuesday, the 7th March 2000 in the Old Assembly Chamber of Parliament in Cape Town from 10h00 to 16h00.Invited to this seminar are all members of Parliament, representatives of embassies, COSATU, SACP, women from business and religious sectors and some from countries under conflict.
Topics to be discussed will include:
1. Conflict resolution and peace in Africa and how it impacts on the lives of women and children,
2. Assessment of HIV/Aids strategies and their impact on women,
3. Economic development,
4. Domestic Violence and,
5. The women's movement in Africa.
