The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal is outraged and shocked by the murder of two-year-old Luyanda Zonda of Umlazi in Durban on the New Year's Day. Apparently luyanda was raped and killed.
Today the ANC leadership has visited Luyanda's father and mother who do not live together but stay at H and G sections respectively. The purpose of the visit has been to extend our condolences and comfort the bereaved families. The child had been on a visit to her father's house when she disappeared. her body was found the following day.
The ANC urges the residents of Umlazi to come forward with information that will lead to the arrest of this merciless monster which took the life of the innocent child. People of Umlazi must copy what was done by the community of Klaarwater near Pinetown last year when six-year-old Notko Vilakazi perished in the same fashion. This community joined hands and even solicited the help of private investigators who successfully assisted the police in apprehending the suspect.
All those people who molest our children have no place in our society. They must be exposed and face the might of the law.
