The ANC in the North-West province will hold a SIYAQOBA rally at Pampierstad stadium in Taung on Saturday, 29th May 1999.
The rally is a tribute to President Nelson Mandela who will hand over the baton to comrade Thabo Mbeki to take over the Presidency of the country after the June 2nd elections. The rally will also wind up our elections campaign and our supporters will be treated to a live performance by popular Kwaito music groups such as Seryake, Mafikizolo and DJ Dre.
The rally starts at 10h00 and will be addressed by comrade Popo Molefe and Blace Nzimande. The ANC has organised busses throughout all our 12 regions to transport our supporters to Taung and call on all our regions to mobilise thousands of our members and supporters to attend this event and ensure that the stadium is filled to capacity. A media table will be available at the stadium for members of the media and the general public to obtain information regarding details of the elections.
A media conference to outline details of the rally and other elections related matters will be held on Thursday 27th May 1999 at the ANC Media Briefing Centre at No. 22 Main Street Mafikeng at 10h00.
