It does not matter the skin colour, the culture or religion he belonged to.Uncle Dullah Omar is and will always be one of the heros in the hearts of the youth of this country.Today South Africa is rated one of the countries with the best physical infrastructure (roads) and for that i choose to give credit to uncle Dullah for his efforts as a minister in the Transport department. If we forget the works of such legends, then we are a lost generation.
I can only say this to his family, ANC and the rest of SA, don't mourn but rather embrace his death by remebering and celebrating who he was and what he has done for this country.
Rest in peace uncle Dullar.

Dear Comrade Farieda and Family
Please accept the deepest sympathies from my wife and I.
We share your pain over the loss of your husband and father. But whjat a life you helped him to live for you and for all our people. In the darkest days of the struggle it must sometimes have been desperately difficult to keep going. As one who was there I know what burdens we placed upon our families and how loviungly the family responded.
Comrade Dullah was an inspiration to us in prison and after freedom came. But you too Comrade Farieda inspired us too.
Yours in comradeship and with love

Our country has indeed lost a committed revolutionary who correctly understood that being an educated person, you have to serve the people who are oppressed, downtrodden and exploited. He understood that freedom has to be accompanied by fundamental transformation of our society. May his family rest assured that their loved one Cde Abdullah "Dullah" Omar through its bravery, principled leadership, modesty and humility inspired many people during the difficult years of our struggle and its victory in 1994.
Cede Mullah : " We will never forget your contribution to building a free country. Generations of future South Africans will be told about you".
Mr Hope Manchaca Papa.
My condolences to the Omar.
Dullah Omar set an example of selfless service to humanity, let my generation
never forget the sacrifices him and his family have made.

The AIDS Consortium mourns the death of Comrade Dullah Omar. On behalf of all its members we send our heart felt condolences to his family and the African National Congress.
For many human rights activists, comrade Dullah was our role model. We remember the work he did during the days of apartheid when he championed struggles against the pass laws and issues that affected impoverished communities. He provided his services as a lawyer to many communities to ensure that poverty did not deprive people of the right to justice and equality.
We will remember him and miss him especially given that he was the voice of the poor and downtrodden in South Africa during the dark and cruel days of Apartheid. We drew courage and strength from his work as a leader of the United Democratic Front in the late 1980’s in the Western Cape.
Let us carry this torch forward and ensure that the ethos of the South African Constitution is translated in real terms to improve the lives of poor people in our country. Especially because the Constitution itself in many respects is the outcome of the pioneering work around human rights that was led by people like the late comrade Dulllah Omar.
Rest in peace comrade Dullah.

My deepest condolences to the family of Cde Dullah Omar and his family, as well as the ANC and its members. His memory will inspire us.

To the Omar family, the African National Congress and freedom loving South Africans I send condolences for the passing away of Comrade Omar. We have lost a great son of the soil. The passing of Omar emphasises again our folly of not recording what our leaders have done so that our children's children will learn a correct history about an honourable generation. Dullar's story is the story of the majority's struggle to be treated as people. His story have to be told.
