Key Events in the ANC
The ANC has not and shall not wilt under criticism or close scrutiny
The ANC recognises that there can never be real democracy without real gender equality. The crux of gender equality is to reach a completely transformed and non- patriarchal society. All struggles need leaders and all causes need champions and the ANC has a historical responsibility to do that for gender struggles. It has to lead in both theory and practice
Strange bedfellows or inevitable allies
The relationship between business and government is a special one, because of the mutual dependency that exists between the two forces. The state relies on businesses to invest and therefore grow the economy; businesses, in turn, depend on government to create the regulatory environment that is conducive to doing business.
Media Transformation, Ownership and Diversity
The discussion paper on Media Transformation, Ownership and Diversity is one of the papers that will be discussed by delegates at the upcoming ANC National General Council (NGC) to be held from the 20 - 24 September 2010. It reflects on the media and broadcasting landscape, challenges confronting the sector and also hub on ANC`s internal communication approach.
The Revolution within the Revolution
August, Women`s month, is always the best month for the women in South Africa especially those in the ANC. It`s their month. It is the time when society in general and the ANC and its government in particular pay special attention to women, their aspirations, hopes, the quality of their lives, their joys and pains. Democracy takes a deliberate moment to focus on how far it has gone in trying to kick out patriarchy, the partner it cohabits with.
Released after the NEC meeting which was held on the 22-23 July 2010
The NEC Bulletin was initiated to ensure that members of the ANC and Alliance partners are informed of the decisions taken by the National Executive Committee
This is important in that the NEC is the highest decision making organ of the organisation
